An Off quotes message means that there have been no new prices for some time, and the last prices can no longer be treated as market prices.
For this reason, when you try to execute an order at these prices, the trading server returns an Off quotes message and denies execution.
Off quotes are frequent at times of thin liquidity. For example, shortly after the start of new trading week on Sunday or before the market closure on Friday.
In order to minimise the number of Off quotes you receive, you could:
- Try to avoid trading during periods of reduced liquidity
- Avoid trading low liquidity instruments
